'Views' on this forum
#1
I've often wondered about the 'Views' numbers next to threads but a particular thread below got me doing a little investigation. I probably could have just asked or searched but not so much fun.

First up I was wondering if the number referred to unique people or whether the same person going back again and again would make the numbers rise. Does it go up if the originator of the topic goes back to look? I went back a month and found a topic that had about 50 views, clicked on it then went back to the list which showed it and did a refresh. It had gone up 2 views! I did it again and again it went up 2 views. I then went to it and while within the topic I hit refresh exactly 5 times, went back to the list, hit refresh and the views had gone up 16!

There is probably a very good reason for this.

All you have to do is hit your browser refresh button repeatedly when the thread is open.
