Logitech Control Center Daemon Bug
#1
I've seen a few questions about LCC compatibility with Leopard lately.

I've found just one bug that I can directly ascribe to it.

After I mount a disk image, I sometimes (but not always) discover that I can't click-drag any Finder items until I restart.

Tonight, I discovered that quitting the LCCDaemon restores my ability to click and drag.

So, there you go.

Relaunching the Daemon doesn't seem to do any harm and the advanced features of Logitech mice require it, so here's an AppleScript that you can use if it ever happens to you. Save it as an Application from the Script Editor and run it if you ever see the same symptom that I've described.

tell application
LCCDaemon
to quit
tell application
LCCDaemon
to activate

I thought I had read that the latest version of LCCDaemon that you can download from Logitech had taken care of the issues with Leopard. Are you using that version? If so, it's good to know that it evidently hasn't fixed everything yet and gives me another reason to hold off on upgrading to Leopard for a while longer. Tiger works very nicely for me now and I'd rather not have to mess with Applescript and such - but thanks for providing the fix.

Yes.

You're very welcome.

I'm sorry to say that it's more a workaround than a fix.

Appreciate the tip, but I have not experienced that 'bug'.
Using:
OS X 10.5.1 Build 9818
Mini C2D 1.83GHz - 2GB
Startup Disk: MiniStack 250MB {WD2500JB00} FireWire
Logitech Control Center 2.4.0 (204)
Logitech Cordless ACCESS Duo: KB & Optical Mouse, Single USB Receiver {very old}

Have you reported it to Logitech? http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-...d=CxzED6Si&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=7323&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTAsMTAmcF9wcm9kcz04NDQsMTEmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTIuMTEmcF9jdj0mcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1MQ0MgT1MgWA**&p_srch=1
