The regular crashes in Safari 3 are a real pain. Has anyone been running SAfari 2 in 10.4.11?

Fix your configuration.
If anything, Safari 3 is more stable than prior releases.

But if Safari 3 is crashing, it points to a larger problem with your Mac. Probably some crummy Safari plug-in/hack/Input Manager that you're running when you should know better. You should do some housecleaning whether you get Safari 2 running or not.

thanks for the link. The only plug in I have is Flip4 Mac to play WMV files. But overall Safari 3 crashes on various machines, all G5 towers of some type. SAfari 2.0.4 never crashed

Flip4Mac is fine. Are you running any haxies or other Input Manager-based hacks? How about anti-virus or maintenance utilities? Are you using a fonts manager? Which one?

About the only thing we do is repair permissions from time to time.
Were using Font Book and no virus protection except for a firewall set up in the router that provides internet access to the office. |
