It is about the same price including shipping at several other retailers (lower list price but higher shipping). It might be worthwhile if the local BB has it in stock so you do not have to pay for shipping.

I keep hearing (and reading) rave reviews about these things and I'm tempted. Here's the thing. Right now I have my JBL Creatures hooked up to the headphone jack of our new 42" HDTV, just because the TV's speakers are sorely lacking. I don't anticipate buying a 5:1 home theater system anytime soon, as our living room area isn't really conducive to having speaker wires strung around the back of the room. So I'm wondering if these would be a good replacement for the Creatures, using them through the headphone jack of the TV. What's also nice about the headphone jack arrangement is that my TV remote volume control adjusts that volume.

$100 will be more than I've ever spent on "computer speakers", but in the absence of a true home theater setup, do you think I'll be duly impressed with these? If not, any other recommendations?

maybe see if any coupons are available; was able to use both 12% loyalty discount and $10 off $75+ a while back to get the Klipsch PM 2.1's for $78 when they had them marked to $99.99...

How reliable do you all find Klipsch products? I bought a refurb set of 2.1 speakers that were faulty, and managed to get my money back. I then bought a set of 2.0 Klipsch speakers at the Apple store 2.5 years ago, and now they are starting to fail. The volume knob has to be wiggled to get the right speaker to come on, and then there is a lot of crackling for a bit while I wiggle it. I'm wondering if they are not such high quality.

No problems so far.

have had some of their stuff for years, and recommended their domestic products to patriotic friends. generally good, reliable stuff, and from what I've heard and come across, if there are any problems, the company is very good about making things right. I love Apple stuff, but I've had a few clunkers over the years, but the overall experience is a net way-positive. same perception w/ Klipsch.
