RYF? (and YMMV) Tivoli Model One on closeout @ Target

Picked up a Tivoli Model One yesterday at Target here in Central Arkansas for $70; it retails for $120.

Not a bad deal. I had been looking for a new table radio for the bathroom. I have the Boston Acoustics Recepter, which is a good & beefy sounding radio, but the bass is too heavy for a room with echo-y acoustics. The Model One is perfect for this environment, plus it has an AUX jack for hooking up an iPod.

I had been looking at the Cambridge Soundworks i765 but, dang, that's amazingly expensive. (I have a similar model, radio only (no CD), and it sounds just find with the iPod hooked up via a dock. Would love to have the iPod dock built-in, but not at that price.) The sound really is stellar, though.

I picked up a Model Three for $60 last fall when they were clearancing those out. The sound really is amazing. Almost negates that it's not stereo. $70 is a deal.

I'm like Chupa, in that I picked one up last year when they cleared them out then too. I think I got mine for around $50, perhaps a little less? They had a couple left...had the choice of the light 'oak' looking or solid black. I chose black and it looks and sounds great here on my desk!

I got the solid black one for $29 last year, and gave it to my Mom.
She loves it.

Yeah, I might head back over and pick up another one for my office, though the aforementioned Recepter does well in here (the bass isn't overpowering for the room).

My local Target tends to not have the same super-low clearance as the rest of the country, though. A friend emailed to say he picked up one for under $50 at the Target near him. I can remember when the Apple HiFi's were on closeout for something like $50 at Target (reported here, I might be off on that) but at my Target they wouldn't go below $150 or something like that.

I wonder if Target is going to stop carrying Tivoli altogether or if they're just phasing out this model (the cobalt blue/cherry wood Model One).
