Just a picture of a church...

...I found while sorting out some of my old photos. I took this in Norway about 3 years ago.

Beautiful building. I'm glad I'm not the one who'd have to replace those shingles!

My first guess was going to be Russian Orthodox. It reminds me of some old Russian churches I saw in Alaska.

This must be before the discovery of the Steeple.

Hey, I've been there, I think. Is it a park with a few historic buildings and houses? kj.

Looks like Epcot's Norway - see the bottom of this page http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/ep...norway.htm

It's a Stave Kirke, or stave church. I've seen a couple of them, one in the fiord district of Norway, and the other at Little Norway near Blue Mounds, WI. Very cool!

NIce!

kj,
It is in a 'park' with historic buildings. It's the relocated Gol Stavkyrkje @ the Folk Museum on Bygdøy.

Yes, isn't it good?

As others have realised it was from the open air Folk Museum near Oslo which is one of the biggest of its kind I have been to. Scandinavia seems to like this idea of moving old endangered buildings into new areas for the public to see. One of my other favourites is the Old Town in Arhus, Denmark.

Here's another building from a small park in Sweden. This house was moved about 50 miles from its original position and was where my wife's Norwegian uncle was born. Despite the move they still have the old rocking cradle that he slept in as a baby on display.
