Wife and I love the TV show but it needs to get a bigger audience if it is to survive. Here'e what was said recently on the prognosis for a new season:
"The good news: ABC loves it, and so does the audience. The bad news: The audience needs to grow. And fast." With a handful of new episodes, they are running out of time. Future Prognosis: Shaky Ground
It has quirky elements similar to the old series "Ally McBeal".

I have watched most of the episodes and think it is better than most other things on in its time slot. Though that is not saying much after the writers strike. I am not sure where they are going to take it.

Apparently the audience excludes a lot of people who did not love it. I do not buy into that people never looked at it but that it is too quirky to appeal to many people.
ABC gets pretty good exposure unlike the cable networks.

I like the show but I am not sure if I would watch it much of if they disconnected it from LOST. Thursday is my only designated tv night.

I enjoy it. It is quirky with a lot if interest, and I really like the accupuncturist.

I like and watch the show. Never connected Ally McBeal but do agree now that you mentioned it.

The creator Greg Berlanti did "Everwood" and that is where Tom Amandes came from BTW.
Victor Garber did a show after Alias on FOX where he also was a lawyer.

I really enjoy the show.
The first couple of episodes were "interesting", but the rest have been engaging (npi).
I don't really see this as quirky, and am loathe to apply that word to most shows. A show may have some quirks, but too often people use "quirky" as a reason to recommend a show. I think that stinks. And often shows so labeled are dismissed prematurely.
I like the actor who plays Eli, and his girlfriend. Actually all the characters are pretty good. I see the guy from Everwood as being cast as a ne'er do well for much of the rest of his acting career.
The guy from Alias-- did he play Garner's dad? He seems like he's going to be a decent sort on this show. On {i}Alias I couldn't tell if he was supposed to be good or bad. Like Lost, that show seemed to throw curves for the sake of throwing curves.
And Garner's ears were bigger than her tits, so I couldn't hang.
But Eli is very enjoyable.
