One of our own is gone

I'm extremely sad to tell you all that our Spearmint died on Tuesday, April 29.

Minty was a troubled soul, and, for some of you, he was a target of derision. There are others of us here who got to know the real guy behind the screen name. We knew what a kind and gentle person he was. He was also extremely intelligent and well educated, and he had a heart of gold. His dream - which he also knew would never be fulfilled - was to have a place where he could live peacefully, surrounded by stray animals to which he could also offer a peaceful home in which to live out their days.

I never communicated with Mint in person, but I treasured him as a friend, and I will miss him very much.

Very sorry to hear this. I know that many here ridiculed him but I always had a fondness for his posts.

I noticed that he hadn't posted in a while and was concerned but I thought he might just be dealing with other concerns. . .

He always seemed like a kind, gentle soul. . .

He will be greatly missed!!!

I had a bad feeling when I noticed he had not posted in a bit. I am so sorry to hear this and hope that at last he is at peace.

Can't say that I paid much attention to any derision but then again I didn't follow many of those posts. Very sad news any way you serve it up.
