I'm in favor of funding trips to a Cubs game, for some disadvantaged group.

I cannot speak for Minty. Were that I could I'd think he might not think it a bad idea to send a check to your local Little League or other baseball organization for kids under 15. Many of these are under funded and in fact could use the help.
More to the point. Call your local and ask them what it takes (usually $130 or so) to sponsor a kid who otherwise couldn't afford to play. Do something meaningful and dedicate your good deed to Minty. Let his family know you did this. If you have a shortage of kids in your area needing this PM me, I have more kids than their folks have money!

Funny how something sad can bring out so much good in everyone.
Friends of mine lost their 10 year daughter a few weeks ago, overwhelming. RIP - Minty

Oh my goodness, how sad. I have been off the forum for several days and just came here and read the news. I am so sorry to hear this. I know a lot of us were quite fond of Minty (myself included) and exchanged PMs on various topics...Mint, please know that you will be fondly remembered for your good-natured humor and wonderful, colorful personality. Godspeed on your journey and I hope you find peace. You were definitely a bright spot here for me.
