It's wet now in SoCAL
#1
There was no indication in the forecast but it's been sprinkling heavily since last night. My S/O said, "Don't heed the weather forecasters; listen to the birds!". She often is right on the spot

CORRECTION: It's not sprinkling; it's drizzling.

SuperSlick roads, and tons of bad drivers.
Four accidents (minor) in front of the casa since about 0700.

If we don't get blistering heat by this time of the year, I predict we'll most likely have a cooler summer ... hovering around 80s or lower 90s; not 100s.

You must be in the valley.
It did get hot a couple weeks ago when we had the Santa Ana conditions.

Typical May-June gloom. It's a climate feature. Ocean's still cold, desert's het up. As the thermal rises in the east it draws in the cool marine air from the ocean. It condenses and backs up against the mountains.

A nice place to go this time of year through mid-July is up in the mountains - above 5000 ft, which is just above the cloud deck. It sometimes appears as if you could walk off the mountains, onto the cloud deck and just keep going forever.

It's otherwise miserable along the coast. We won't regularly see the sun again for a few months. "Night and morning low clouds and fog … with limited clearing in the late afternoon … " It's a feature, not a bug.

Saves on the AC.

I was here. A a few days of 90's wasn't bad compared to many days of high 90's and 100's for three to four months.
