No root level "Documents" folder in Leopard?

I've got some broken aliases, looking for items that were previously in my root level documents folder.
Was there a root level "Documents" folder prior to Leopard, or is this maybe something I created?

Aw, never mind, must be something I created a few3 OS's ago and have carried over.

I think it was a standard root level folder in OS-9
