Gizmodo is reporting that the 3G iPhone will be unveiled at the WWDC June 9:

I'm not sure what this means for Verizon subscribers like me, though.

Interesting. The article only talks about the new sales model for Europe but I wonder if that Apple is going to dump the fixed price in the U.S. too and go to a subsidized model. That would certainly cure the sales to "unlockers." I've read similar rumors over the past few months. If Apple does go that way I wonder if they will retain the subscription accounting so that we can get free firmware updates, or if they will treat it like the iPod Touch and we'll have to buy firmware updates.

I wouldn't hold my breath. It would be a big surprise if Apple made a non-GSM iphone.

If they want to sell iPhone in Japan or South Korea, Apple will be pretty much forced to come up with a CDMA model. But that won't change the multi-year exclusive deal they have with ATTWS in the US or anything.

for the iPhone. But an Apple CDMA 3G wouldn't be an iPhone ............ would it?
