But all I have is a back-up of my drive. I'm still just sitting here in my underwear, otherwise.
This is not one of Apple's more entertaining devices, that's for sure.

and it checks your backup drive hourly--that's right, every hour--- in case anything has changed.
How's that for pointless entertainment?
Imagine how useful it might be if you used it for an active hard drive, instead of a backup drive.
Then it's partyin' all the time!
So, how often do you backup?

I read it wrong, I thought you were backing up your backup drive. LOL.
Well, YEAH, now it makes sense. I just started trying out Time Machine, too. I had the misguided impression that those hourly updates would tax my MacBook Pro's resources, or slow things down, or in some other way, be annoying or disruptive. As it turns out, it's pretty seamless. No complaints. Works like a charm.
Not terribly entertaining, but neither is homeowner's insurance, fire hydrants, or seat belts.
How long you been using a mac? and you've never EVER backed up, until now? YOW!

never backed up an entire drive. Just user folders, etc.
Mac user? Since 1984, owner since 1989.
