Listening to the classic rock station on the way in to work this morning (forgot to charge the old iPod) I hear that "The Tubes" are coming to NE Ohio. To a Bar. Whaaa ?
Is this REALLY The Tubes ? Or a 'leftover band' with perhaps one member of the old group ? I mean, I loved their stuff, especially their stage shows. Should I drop $50 for two tickets to see 'em ? Will they amble in with wheelchairs and walkers, and play for about 15 minutes ?

Very alt band from San Fran '70's. Their stage shows were juuust this side of pr0n. I believe their most recognizable hit was "She's a Beauty".

No Prarie Prince, either. In spite of this my friend saw them recently and said they were still pretty good.

The fact that some really good bands age and fall out of favor with most of the "adoring public" can be a great thing. A couple of my favorite bands that have been around for over 20 years and are still playing, frequently play very small venues when they are in the US (both are popular UK bands). It's very cool but also makes me feel bad for the band at times.
As cool as the atmosphere of a large stadium show can be, an intimate venue like a bar can be more than rewarding, too. If it' a band you like then i say you should definitely go. I'm guessing they will have re-worked some (or all) of their tunes to play better in a smaller venue. That in itself can be well worth the effort and cost to see them.
Enjoy!

As I mentioned near the close of the last record, this record you are now playing is
another example of
the completion backward principal. If you can possibly manage the
time, please play both sides at one meeting.
The Tubes are also a favorite of
The Fishin' Musician.
