Mail filters stopped working today

I have many filters or rules that move my email automatically into folders, this morning they stopped working. I checked in the mail preferences and they are all still checked as active. Any thoughts on what I can do?

Because Mail is not a self-contained program. It relies upon frameworks which may not be working properly.

Whenever there's a weird problem with Mail, the first thing to try is a restart.

Same with Safari.
