I say if it's so bad for us to have the government be involved with health care, let's save the people who work so hard for us from the terrible care they are getting.
Can we take away the health care provided to our senators and congresspeople?

Awww. I mean it's not like they can afford private healthcare, can they ? Or be told that this procedure is not 'medically necessary;' or there is a 'reasonable and customary charge'.
Actually I think it's a great idea. Congress and free healthcare is like GM and Chrysler executives and their free cars. Both are insulated from the day to day reality of dealing with the issues. Hence they have no personal stake in 'getting it right'. GM's announcement just before the bankruptcy that the free car ride was over was a long needed change in mind set. Congress needs the same change in mind set about healthcare. As far as Congress is personally concerned, government provides excellent healthcare. I think the smartest act by Republican congresscritters would be to eschew Congressional healthcare and go buy their own private healthcare- preferably the one a majority of their consituents use.

How about an ammendment prohibiting them from granting themselves benefits that the government doesn't provide citizens in general?
