What the hey is my "SyncServer" up to ... ?
#1
My fans have come on unexpectedly a few times lately on my MacBook 2.4 (4/250/10.5.8). Looked at Activity Monitor and SyncServer may be the issue...it is spiking from 0% of CPU to 90 or so in very brief bursts. Not with the duration of the Tasmanian Devil but definitely with his speed. Maybe more with Flash's (the superhero, not the bloatware) speed. I just Repaired Permissions last night, there is nothing plugged in except power. No haxies or other untoward guests. I have ClicktoFlash installed and love it. No flash sites are even up right now on my machine.

Is this completely normal, peeps? It doesn't happen a lot (I've had this machine ~2 yrs), just a few times of late. Anybody with input, many thanks.

Do you have a mobile me account. Sync Server is used when syncing your address book/ ical/ etc to the "cloud" when using mobile me. Causes occasional fits on my MBP... force quit will work, but usually requires a shut down and restart to clear.

I use it for syncing iPod and iPhone but don't have MobileMe. Hmm. Thanks for the thoughts.
