Simmons from Kiss? why is he on a reality show?

What am I missing? Why do I keep seeing ads on TV for a reality show he is on. Why would I want to watch it? Other than being a KISS member (I think I have that right) why would I care about him? Seriously.

He was actually very entertaining on Celebrity Apprentice.
The essence is he's got a lot of money and wants to be in show business.
He also bought his 18 year old son a variety show.

I've watched all the episodes of Gene Simmon's Family Jewels. It is really a very good show - as far as reality shows go. Unlike the Osbornes, he has a well-adjusted family that spends more time doing stuff together and enjoying each other's company than yelling at each other. They poke fun at him a lot for all of his self-promotion and marketing and he is a good sport about it.

If you know anything about KISS, they really started the trend of merchandising, licensing, name recognition, etc. This was mostly Gene's doing. It has made him very wealthy, but also very interesting.

I thought his short stint on The Celebrity Apprentice was very good. He used his name-recognition and contacts to bring in money, which was the object of the projects they had to do. When he thought he needed to move on, he showed he clearly was "done" with it and basically got himself fired by not giving Donald any other choice but to fire him.

i'm sorry, but The Beatles really started the band merchandising thing.

if you were too young to experience the Fab Four phenom (i am), you never saw how much Beatles STUFF was produced.
