quicktime to youtube trouble

I am trying to get a video from Quicktime 10 to Youtube. The video is excellent quality. When I go to Share...Youtube I am not given any quality choices. The video that gets upped to Youtube is so pixelated it is unwatchable on Youtube. What am I doing wrong?

So are you uploading the best quality video directly to YouTube or are you exporting an intermediate file before that?

As far as I know the best quality video is going to Youtube. I am not given any choice as to what quality I want to export.

Well YouTube pretty much takes whatever you've got and makes it conform to their standards, so I don't know for sure what is going on, but what are the specs for your original video- pixel dimensions, codec, bitrate etc?
