Article on sleazy laptop repair businesses

Creepy behavior in addition to dishonesty. Don't know if it's already been mentioned here; I haven't had much time for anything except work and sleep.

I may not be able to testify conclusively where President Obama was really born, but I can state w/ authority based on personal experience that the (now defunct) CompUSA chain not only scavenged data from unsuspecting customers; they sold machines w/ other people's data on them when they wanted to unload aging machines...

Interesting article regardless of the location... it seems you can find crooks, and dishonest people everywhere.

It doesn't, but it serves to inform/remind people that there are criminals in the computer repair business just as there are in almost if not in every other repair business.

And that a little knowledge on the users' part could save them money and grief.

To that end, I think it's irrelevant that the website is in the UK. I think the noteable thing about the article being in the UK is that we get to see it here, where in any other medium, we'd never have known a thing about it.
