Saw Cheap Trick last night.

Thoroughly enjoyable . . . I had a smile on my face the entire show; singer sounds impossibly great.
They do an amazing job of keeping the energy up every minute (thanks to Rick Nielsen's constant scthick.
I guess Bun E. Carlos doesn't like touring so Nielsen's son is on drums (and great . . .)

Last time I saw them I was 14 :-)

Squeeze opened. Also sounding fine, although clearly not who most people came to see.

I wanted to go just to see Squeeze. CT would have been a bonus. Smile Glad you enjoyed the show!

I missed the first of their "Sgt Pepper" shows in Vegas by one day last month. Probably wouldn't have sprung for the $$$ tickets anyway, but I would have liked to have had the option...

I was going to see them on the 14th and now you've spoiled the anticipation for me.
Not worth seeing now.

:-)

I'd have gone just to see Squeeze, too.

They do (or used to) do a kickass version of "Day Tripper." Cheap Trick, that is.

Speaking of Beatles, remember when Squeeze' Tilbrook and Difford were going to be "the next Lennon and McCartney"? They sure had a few songs that gave that impression.

Cheap Trick rules.

I think the lead singer and one of the Heart girls had a thing. For many years it was Heart and Cheap Trick together. Rick Nielsen once said that headlining was to much work. He like to leave those details to some one else. Show up, Play, and enjoy the show.
I have a import that wasn't ( Busted ) released in this country but never did all of the soundtracks that they contributed to.

I regret not having seen Johnny Cash the last time he came through Sacramento.

About a year later he started having health issues.

Singles: 45 and Under got some heavy rotation (by me) back in the 80s... and beyond... those songs are amazing!

I've been a fan of CT since forever! Last time I saw them was in '93 at a nearby small town amphitheater. Couldn't have been more than 2000 seats, and we had 2nd row! (no groupies crowding the stage either). All that separated us from the stage was turned over bicycle racks (Not ONE security person around from what I could see).

Even though it was a very hot and humid evening, CT played their asses off! Rick Neilson was doing his usual antics, and every time he wiped a bead of sweat off his brow, he would shoot it at someone in the audience. They played for quite awhile, and towards the end, they invited the whole audience down to the local Raddison Inn for a party. I had to get up at 4am for work, so I couldn't go, but I sure regretted it.
