We found one just like that in one of our trees yesterday!

Don't poke it! The paper wasps have probably long gone away. We had one hanging in the shed for about 10 years after it was removed from the neighbor's yard. It finally fell apart this year. What we did was spray it with canned lacquer to stabilize the structure. It was quite the conversation piece. Nature can be very cool with all its forms of shelter.

I took one apart and used the paper n collage once. Nice color streaks.
Them little stingers are good at design.

Wasps? I think it's a hornet nest but I don't recall seeing any more than usual this past summer.

I see these nests from time to time in my trees. I don't mind, better they build where they're supposed to instead of in MY living space.

It's amazing what these creatures can create.
