Do last minute campaign phone calls do any good?
#1
I'm seeing all these pleas for help making phone calls in the last few days prior to the election.
I'm having a =real= hard time believing that they do any good at all.
Anyone have any 'insider' insight?

I think a lot of them are "get out the vote" calls to neighborhoods known to favor the candidate. It's unlikely that a phone call can sway someone from one position to the other (unless the person is incredibly gullible).

yeah, you call your "1s" the few days before the election. in fact, you call them the day of the election, too.

one place I made calls had inadvertently made copies of the same sheets so one half of the office was calling folks who had just hung up with another person across the room. I think they lost some voters that day.

Hell, during my campaign we not only called them - we sent cars to transport them.

We relied on volunteers.

Two of my supporters on their way to the polls.

They are successful.

They successfully annoy the crap out of me.

That alone makes them worth every misspent penny.

So you can prevent the phone from ringing too?
