Never really liked him much - just don't think he's very funny and now, he's downright stupid.

He can be very funny.

He has problems with every religion and he enjoys muttering outrageousness which gets everyone kind hot.

He himself will tell you he's a jerk. That's ain't news.

I'm not sure how I feel about Maher. Sometimes I feel like he hits the nail on the head and sometimes I feel like he is the world's biggest a-hole.

He, like all of these people are just trying to stay relevant on a day to day basis. The talk, talk and talk, then talk some more. Eventually something wicked blurts out. Why should people be surprised or offended? Just mutterings out some dude's mouth.

He's intelligent and quick witted and can offer good insight when he wants. He knows how handle a panel until he abruptly stops to "make comedy." He's also insecure and stubborn about some things. Religion in particular.

Because Maher is supposed to be a humorist and gadfly and Williams is supposed to be a pundit and analyst.

Also because HBO is not a news organization.

Also because NPR is not allowed to control the hiring and firing of everyone in this country, only that of the people who actually work for NPR.
