The big snow globes with all the snow blowing around inside is sorta cute but that's a bit of overkill for me.
I prefer simple and somewhat traditional.

There's a few around here.
I only see them deflated lying dead on the lawn in the A.M. Up until the last couple years the most I did was either a red ribbon on the front door or a wreath on the side of the house with a spot light. I now have 8 strings of LED lights. That house isn't exactly a shining architectural aesthetic design prize, either.

I'll try and snap a shot our home, just 3 lighted wreaths and the old traditional 3 lights candelabras in
each window. She does have 3 trees in the house though. We went "High Tech" this year, 2 remote conrols so I turn the lights on the wreaths off from inside, couldn't believe she found the stacked outlets with a remote at Lowe's for $10 each, reg, price.

I just HATE those inflatables, I think they've totally ruined outdoor decorations for Christmas.
In our area, people used to collect decorations over the years, adding to their scenes, creating individual tableaus that were quite wonderful. Now everybody just throws these things up, they're all the same (even if they're different) and they just look tacky. Off my soapbox. Kate |
