Vonage is offering its existing customers (as of 12/05-02/06) an early crack at their stock before the IPO.

What's the word on the street?

I don't think there's a long life for Vonage, SunRocket etc. They'll get squashed or bought for their smarts. I have SR, friends have V, but in the end, Ma Bell wins.

I'm pretty sure Vonage had a big head start on Sun Rocket, but I don't know if that buys them much. I've got FiOS for my data and "landline," but it's way more expensive than Vonage (as in, just as much as POTS service). It's also a better phoneline than Vonage for sheer quality, but I'm still not sure its a direct competitor.
