OT: When discharging a gun & shooting two classmates....
#1
..the "I'm Sorry" will not cut it as an excuse to get out of trouble.

The student who brought the gun apologized before running to a classroom, Gannon said.
"He said, 'I'm sorry,' when the gun went off. It made it appear to the teacher that it was an accident," Gannon said.

Did he have to write "I'm really sorry" 500 times on the blackboard?

Hmh. This school is no more than three miles from where I sit typing this. It's not the best school, but certainly not the worst LAUSD has to offer. My stepson played many games there (as visitor) during his Pop Warner football career.

At least this was just stupid, lame and unfortunate instead of a tragedy caused by madness.

Would it make you feel better if guns were banned, and he took a knife to school and stabbed a couple people instead?
No?

How about this... if you injure or kill someone, you go to jail. I don't care what you use to do it.

I hope the arresting officer "accidentally" slammed his hand in the car door... and said "Ooops... Sorry...didn't mean it".

Break it up you two. Let's not let this debate get in the way of my tasteless attempt at humor while two kids are recuperating in the hospital and another is going to the slam.

OK.. .but this part of my post should stand on its own;

"I hope the arresting officer "accidentally" slammed his hand in the car door... and said "Ooops... Sorry...didn't mean it"."

No, we just have a runaway cross-hair problem.

Not sure if you read the article, I don't see how a knife could have done the same thing. He wasn't even holding the gun in his hand.

LOS ANGELES – A gun in a 10th-grader's backpack accidentally discharged when he dropped the bag, wounding two students at a high school Tuesday, Los Angeles police and school authorities said.
