Future Airplanes -- 2025 -- would you fly on a plane with no windows?

NASA has plans for the future:

For the third design, would you fly on a plane with no windows?

Windows are always a stress point in planes.. remembering the DeHaviland Comet's disastrous design flaws...

Replacing them with HD screens is always a possibility.

Personally, I LIKE to be able to see outside... some of the most memorable stargazing experiences of my life involved late night transcontinental flights... an observatory at 50,000 feet is awesome. So I would badly miss that.

What is NASA doing in commercial aviation? Looks like they are really out of ideas.

Exactly.

TSA gropes won't really compensate.

Depends --- will there be private rooms?

As long as the commercial airline seats of the future are built for someone of my frame (6'2" ) and not for anorexic midgets, I couldn't care if the interior of the aircraft was plastered with pictures of Roseanne Barr.

more than likely knocked out so that you're just breathing in a space smaller than the tube used to bring up the Chilaen miners.

That would be called a rocket, not an airplane. Big Grin

Actually I usually try to get an aisle seat, so I can't see much anyway, but I do like the idea of being able to see out.

Of course, if there is just about any other way to get to my destination, I would take that over flying. Airports have gotten to be such a hassle and the planes so cramped and overbooked, that flying isn't much fun anymore.
