Moving iPod from PC to Mac...
#1
My daughter is waiting on her iBook to come (yes, we bought a used iBook w/warranty intact instead of a new MacBook). Anyway, she needs some info on relocating her iPod to her iBook from our PC. How does she do this? Do we need firewire? We are new to Macs as it is so this is something we need to work out.

Thanks for the help!

It should be as simple as plugging it in. iTunes will open and look for music to load onto it. You will not be able to copy the music though, unless you move it from the PC to the Mac, but you can't use the iPod to do the moving...piracy laws and such get in the way of that.

For my iPODS (I use a PC and a mac) I mix my music to download and burn a CD so if music gets deleted or lost I always have the music to put on a new iPod or whatever.

I wiped out some music on a computer but no problem because I got out my "custome CDs" and downloaded again.

How about burning a CD of your PC Music. You can then have it for reference and transfer to any computer PC or Mac in the future.

This program will allow you to move your songs from the iPod to the new computer.

Though I agree with Suzanne in having all you music backed up, this will get you operational in no time . . .

Funny, a while back someone at apple told me to use the iPod to copy it all onto and then unload it on the Mac - is that wrong? Problem is, we can't format the iPod without clearing it, and on the eMac it wouldn't do any of it without a firewire.

Soooo???
