Credit to $tevie for the t-shirt slogan!

Meanwhile, the President of the United States of America's approval ratings are enjoying a little boost:

Most interesting tidbit to me:
The largest polling rally in Gallup history occurred in 2001 when President George W. Bush's numbers went from 51 percent before the World Trade Center Attack to 86 percent after it.

Kind of suggests that in times of national crisis both sides will rally behind a president regardless of party affiliation . . . as long as that president's not a democrat.

it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. i'm optimistic that it'll stick around much longer than most ratings boosters.

If there's enough good stuff on those hard drives and thumb drives, the boost may be both higher and long-lasting. A captured/killed Ayman al-Zawahiri and some Al Qaeda strongholds destroyed and you've got check if not mate. Some pundits say it was on the wane even before OBL got hit, so this could get interesting.

Yeah, because he is not listening to his kook base and sends in Cheney's assassination squad.

This week must REALLY suck for you. Not only is Obama MORE popular than last week, even with Republicans, but he did something that you crowed he could not, AND that Bush/Cheney & co did NOT do. Bush Doctrine continuation my :censor:.

Too bad that we did not have someone kill OBL early on, as then the untold hundreds of billions would not have been spent in Iraq.

BTW, the offer still stands for the one way ticket to Yemen. I will start the pot with $35.

I'm not following. What did Iraq have to do with OBL? Why would Cheney not have gone into Iraq even if OBL had turned himself in?

I agree. Going into Iraq was a foregone conclusion. It was Cheney's misstep to try to create a relationship to 9/11 and thereby tip us off that it was all a bunch of calculated BS.
