If you are the governor of a State, and you like to talk about tuff guy stuff like bootstraps, rejecting federal funding, seceding from the union, etc. - do NOT be surprised when the federal government fails to come to running to your rescue in a time of "crisis".

According to the article, FEMA has provided Texas with substantial fire-fighting assistance (75%) already, and is continuing to help.

Maybe it's because that, of the 50 state governors, the governor of Texas has the least power and responsibility. Perry needs to look like he's doing something.
