Pakistan Paints Dismal Image of Bin Laden's End
#1
Pakistan's military paints a far different picture than the United States of Osama bin Laden's final days: not the terror mastermind still trying to strike America, but an aging terrorist hiding in barren rooms, short of money and struggling to maintain his grip on al-Qaida.

Barren rooms? I guess he didn't plan well building that large house and then running out of cash just before buying furniture.

Well, it had to be better than living in a cave. Either way, I don't feel sorry for him. He chose his path. He gave up his life of luxury for the life as a terrorist fugitive.

It's been theorized elsewhere that Pakistan is motivated to downplay OBL's importance in order to justify helping conceal not having been more proactive about helping identify his whereabouts.

There's a lot of blah blah blah coming out of Pakistan this week. Lots of tap dancing around. :eye:

I still believe acquiescence of Pakistan was garnered before the raid. If not, what was the plan if 10,000 Pakistani troops showed up on the doorstep of Obama's house after hearing the gunfire and choppers. They were, what, 2 blocks away?

I thought that was Tom Cruise at first. Then I looked closer and now realize that you have blasphemed the Leader by linking him with bin Laden!

A room with several thousand dollars of electronics can hardly be called barren....
