Kill someone while on Red Bull and after they fly away, you fly free as well.

well, there's got to be something to it...

"The judge said she had never seen it before.

Four doctors -- two hired by prosecutors, two by the defense -- all agreed: Stephen Coffeen lost touch with reality and was legally insane when he suffocated his elderly father."

is this the 21st century version of the Twinkie defense?

Never mind that the article says nowhere that Red Bull was the cause of this insanity or crime. Misleading headline and massively oversimplified post.

"An expert has said drinking Red Bull was one of the things that led to the crime."

And what exactly does that mean? That if you drink Red Bull you'll go crazy and kill your dad? I don't think so. More like, if you load up an insane person with a high powered stimulant they may do something crazy. That's still a long way from Red Bull being the cause of this.

I don't think so.

That doesn't matter.

Someone recognized as an expert witness in that court convinced a jury that Red Bull was in part responsible.

He may be right or he may be wrong. What are your credentials?

Dear God, please tell me that you've never served on a capital crime's jury. From what was said so far, Red Bull was in part responsible. Where did it say that Red Bull was the cause of this? The cause is a long way from being "one of the things".

So to apply your critical thinking, are you saying based on your expertise that Red Bull was in no way responsible?

The headline and post *are* misleading, I'll grant. But so what? Neither are Pulitzer material. The media often dubs killers with nicknames. That just the way it is.

It didn't, which is my point. You are not understanding what I wrote.
