Problem with software update
#1
Welcome to Summer!!
I am having a problem with Software Update. When I click on it, an error box says "Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem."

I've run the Snow Leopard network diagnostics and it says there is no problem. And I'm having no problems with any other access to the net, including itunes. Any ideas? It was working fine a couple of days ago, but not now.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hate to even say it, but did you try a restart?

you might also try re-applying a 10.6.x combo update (i.e. whatever version you're currently on, or just grab the newest one).

Don't apologize.... I did restart a few times, no change.

Try a Safe boot. If that doesn't work, then apply the Combo update.
