Local shop will mount and balance for $680 for four 245/75/16s. Another shop will mount and bal four anything for $65--but he does not sell tires. Is there a mail order solution?

Heard nothing but good things about Tire Rack, but haven't used them.

I like TireRack, but there's also http://www.discounttiredirect.com/

I like discounttiredirect.com better - it is generally cheaper due to free shipping.
That said, my last set came off ebay and saved me roughly $60 off the retail web stores.

I like Discount Tires. I researched them and Tire Rack and Discount Tires beat them. They are the ones Mavic linked to. Go to the FIND INSTALLERS button.

Walmarts with tire and auto usually have the cheapest mount and balance fees.

$30 mounting and balancing? I have bought tires for that much.

Tire Rack will have the tires delivered to a local authorized shop and send you an email when they're delivered. Not a big deal to truck them over, but if you're not home they won't be sitting out front.

I used TireRack for my last set of tires. Very pleased with the whole process!
