Southeasteners and Midwesterners, "Drink plenty of water! And don't leave your elders nor children nor pets in the car!"

I am still debating whether to bike to work or take the bus or hitch a ride from Wife.

No.

And there's no relief due until Thursday.

We've had 46 days in a row of 100+ temps. I'm ready to throw in the towel (after I soak it in ice water).

Local: North Texas.

No, me neither. Supposed to be 97 here today (western Virginia), heat index near 105. Thank goodness for working inside w/AC. I did bike the 1 mile to work, but I know I'll be soaked after I get home tonight.

We are getting a 3 day break before the temperatures start cranking up again.

The kids love their backyard inflatable pool.

I've lived in Orlando for almost 17 years now, and even though it's hot and humid here all summer, it's only hit 100 maybe a handful of times since I've been here. The humidity from being a large peninsula usually tends to keep the temperature from getting too hot. I've gotten used to temperatures in the mid-upper 90's with high humidity. Well, maybe not completely used to it, but you tend to learn to plan your time such that you don't spend a lot of it outside from about noon until 5pm unless you absolutely have to.

It feels like San Francisco this morning in Sacramento. We even have the low clouds.
