[Chase] FAX FEE ASSESSED ($30)

I have mortgage with Chase and I am going to refinance with another lender. I just check my Chase account and I see a $30 "FAX FEE ASSESSED". A quick search online for this exct phrase reveals only 2 other hits, both something to do with Chase.

I guess other banks don't have this fee? why is Chase charging me $30? I assume they send a payoff quote to the other lender?

Are you in the process of refinancing? If so, it may have something to do with it:



i'd give a call and confirm that is has something to do with the refinancing. If you get the fee more than once and it's for information being sent to the same company more than once, I'd go after the company asking for the information for reimbursement.
