Belmont winners on 9/11
#1
http://www.opposingviews.com/i/money/eer...nniversary And the payout was @ 10 to 1 on the tenth anniversary.

"Talk about an eerie. The winners of the first three horse races at Belmont Park in New York on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 were nine, one and -- you guessed it -- one.

David Jacobson, a trainer at the stable that owns the first two winners, told the New York Post that the odds "were probably about a million to one."

Well, not quite -- you can actually place a bet on that, and it paid $18.60 for a $2 wager.

Making it even more of a crazy coincidence is that Belmont Park was used as a staging area for workers and emergency vehicles in the days following the terror attacks.

9-1-1 is a popular combination for bettors and lottery players. Those numbers were sold out for both of New York's daily "Numbers" drawing every day from September 5 through September 12, said New York State Lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman.

The numbers didn't come up, but you might remember that 9-1-1 was drawn in New York on the first anniversary of 9/11."

The thing about coincidences is that they are coincidental.

I think tautologies work the same way.
