Very confused on which to keep
#1
I bought an 11" Macbook Air (4g RAM, 128gb SSD) early this year. Put everything I needed on it and still had about 75gb left. After about two months of using it I I found it difficult to see what was on the screen . I kept holding it up, closer to my face. Not the ideal position for a "laptop". Sold it in June for almost what I paid for it and got a great deal on an openbox 2011 13" MBP at Microcenter - out the door for $810. Bumped it up to 8gb and stuck in a Momentus XT. Great laptop, very fast and easier on the eyes, but heavy. Then, in July/August I had cataract surgery on both eyes. Found myself at Bestbuy looking at the new 11" Macbook Airs and lo and behold, I can see the screen fine! It was the cataracts. Damn! A lot of buying and selling for nothing. End of back-story

This week I was in my local Bestbuy and they happened to have an open box 11" 128gb Macbook Air. The Sirens called and like Odysseus' men, I couldn't resist. With the 10% off their sale price and a $10 gift card it was out the door for $1062. WooHoo! A sweet machine for a sweet price but another bump-up to the old credit card.

The predicament/question: I have one laptop too many! Which do I keep? I plan to take the MBA on a vacation trip this week and see how it works out, but what does the
collective MR mind have to say - and I hope it isn't "keep them both".

Is it your only mac?

I voted for the Air, but if you're a heavy user and it's your only machine, you may want to keep the Pro.

My next laptop isn't going to be a laptop... the sole reason for me owning a laptop was killed when my work essentially disabled Outlook Web Access. I'm going for an iPad next time.

There must be 50 ways to leave your MBP.

Depends on whether you value computing power or portability more...

If it was me, I'd probably keep the Macbook Pro...
I have an iPad for portability, but occasionally need something more than the iOS someplace other than home.
For that, I have my (long in the tooth, Core Duo) Macbook.

Keep the newest. Sell in a year.

Forgot to mention, I have the new 2.3gHz Mac Mini with a 24" monitor for "semi-heavy lifting" (Sold my 2009 24" iMac for enough to cover both the Mini and the monitor).

Now I think you should just give it a way to someone with a blue and white G3 for a main machine

I can send pics of my Blue and White G3.

You were happy with the Air, so I'd keep that were I you. I personally want the baddest Mac I can ever afford. It'd be Macbook Pro for me.
