After hearing this news http://www.tipb.com/2011/10/03/sprint-dr...exclusive/ I called Apple and offered them $20,000,000,005 for iPhone 5 exclusivity. I just got the call from Cook that they accepted. BTW, he said that Jobs is fine and sends his love.
I'm not sure what I will do with them. I may install WebOS on them or maybe even Windows Mango.

What do you mean, "you don't know what you will do with them." You will give every registered MRF member one, at cost, or else.

"Cost" is probably well over $500.
I prefer "subsidized."

It is just a pay me now, or pay me later scenario.

You could buy an iPhone for $600 or you could buy it for $200. Whatever deal you get, your cellular provider will still stick you with the full "smartphone" rate with the expensive data and text plan so why not get the subsidized version?

I would pay the full retail ONLY if I could activate it on the prepaid plan of my choice. I would save the $400 in less than a year.

cheap iphone plan:
http://www.tuaw.com/2011/08/10/dear-aunt...-speak-of/
jump to the bottom for the 'money shot' ...
Here are a few purchase scenarios you might consider.
3 $25 buckets, 9 $5 buckets: $120 + $30 airtime: 1.6 GB costing $150
6 $25 buckets, 6 $5 buckets: $180 + $20 airtime: 3 GB costing $200
9 $25 buckets, 3 $5 buckets: $240 + $10 airtime: 4.5 GB costing $250
12 $25 buckets: $300 + $25 airtime: 6 GB costing $325
For comparison, the expected per-year cost for really basic iPhone service at $55 per month: $660 (Auntie thinks that's the lowest available, you might want to check).
