Wine Season
#1
Its finally cool enough (below 80 before 10pm) so I can enjoy a glass of wine instead of beer!

To kick off my wine season, even tho I usually detest sweet wines is:

Poteet Strawberry Reserve!
"Sweet Strawberry wine made from over-ripe, late season Poteet Strawberries especially grown for this wine."
Intense Strawberry Aroma, sweet strawberry flavor. Delicoius!

It's never not wine season here.
Even when it breaks 100.

Some fruit wines are really good, though.
I prefer dry myself, but I'm always willing to try a new batch and with wine there's almost always a new batch. :-)

The only wine I really enjoy are sweet dessert wines, but boy can they give you a mean hangover the next day, probably from all the sugar mixed with the alcohol.

Normally it's only dry red for me but I'm into a bottle of this at the moment:

I like.

Fruit wines are nice. Looking forward to getting some Chilean and Argentinean Carmenere's in me soon!

I have a bottle of New Mexico Sangiovese waiting.
For my heart, ya know...

These all sound to me like they're soda pops with a punch.

I've had my fair share of so called "fruit" wines, but give me a classic California, french or italian varietal (preferably dry) any old day.

And, you are implying that there is something wrong with that? Smile
