Interesting theory(?) on why the iPhone has a 3.5" screen (and always will)

Having never used a phone with a larger screen -- or even touching one -- not sure how much water this argument holds. but interesting nonetheless.

Kinda along the thought process of da Vinci's Vitruvian man...

You're giving Gizmodo ad-revenue that they haven't earned.

Cite the source, not the people who steal his work.

Thanks---I run hot and cold on this issue of citing. On the one hand, I feel like you do, give the first place proper credit for the original piece. On the other hand, I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for the aggregators like Giz, so they should get some credit.

Back on topic, Dustin Curtis seems like a very perceptive guy. His blog sees another contrast: http://dcurt.is/2011/10/05/the-differenc...nd-better/

Oh, and if my iPhone were any larger I couldn't put it in my various pockets.

Works for me. I don't want them to make the screen larger. As previously stated, I think the current model is almost perfectly designed.

If you look at the images that the author provided, you can see that there's no reason not to make the screen at least a little larger. Maybe bring it up to around 3.8 inches.

The phone, itself, wouldn't need to be bigger. Just remove the black border.

That's what folks have been suggesting was done on the iPhone 5 prototypes.

Wouldn't a larger screen reduce battery life?
