Interesting...but it's a head scratcher to me. There's definitely a market for it, but it seems like it's such a small one.

As in why the wifi isn't incorporated into the unit? Yeah, I like the solution, but would seem that the incorporation could be carried a little further.

BYO WiFi to keep costs low perhaps? Whatever price that may be...
Compatibility/Futureproofing maybe? The retail cost of this one trick pony is key. I hope it's below $20 Smile

Definitely of interest, but will it cost $50, $100 or $200. The price point is critical.

$200?! With no WiFi. It's a glorified mini amp with ports and a volume knob. $29.99 at most. i hope... Smile

I've been very tempted by those Hong-Kong amps I see on ebay with built-in DACs for about $150-200 but these would be better if they did incorporate BT or wi-fi. however, to make it Mac-friendly, I am sure the AE is the way to go.

Futureproofing until Apple changes the design of the Express, that is.

Heh, they show it on top of an old KLH. That's really reaching back to make use of old tech (but excellent at the time).

I have a portable amp like this which has a 15wpc Tripath digital amp in it and the thing cost me around $60 so if this has 20w plus the Apple look and AE bed, it won't cost less than $99.

I wouldn't trade for this as mine runs on an external switched PS or internally on 8 AA batteries, which it it's killer feature which I use all the time. I liked it so much, I bought a second. As the mysterious Japanese rich dude in Contact said, "Why have one when you can have two at twice the price?"
