Not Getting Audio Via HDMI
#1
Like the OP in this thread,

I'm not getting audio when streaming from my MBP to a Toshiba TV via HDMI. I have a late 2010 13" MBP and my Mini-Display-to-HDMI adaptor works fine at home sending both video and audio to our big Samsung.

Cabling seems fine. Are there some TVs that don't support audio over HDMI? Or is there some setting I am missing?

It's annoying to watch a movie but have to listen on the small speakers on the MBP.

Are you using Plex? Plex needs to be set to use the same audio source as selected in the Sound control panel.

Well duh! I didn't even think to check the Sound Prefs pane! And you're right, the Toshiba is there.

In my defense, I didn't think of it because the issue never arose when streaming from my MBP to our Samsung. Why is that?
