My Dad gave me a pack for Xmas that I suspect is a median ALICE pack. It did not have straps and one of the rings to hold a shoulder strap was missing, so I ordered the ALICE frame with straps. The pack fits the frame OK, not coming all the way to the bottom, which makes me think this is a medium pack.
I got the kidney pad on. I can get the top part of the shoulder straps on the frame, no problems. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to attach the lower part of the strap to the frame. No amount of internet searching has revealed how to do this. Plenty of written instructions (which make no sense) and plenty of youtube videos that show how to put on the top part of the straps. No lower strap attachment advice.
I get the part where the loop end goes through the grommet from inside the frame to outside. That's easy. I then read directions that state the loose end goes through the loop and pull down with the loop attached to the frame. Huh? What? Where? How? Noooooooo!
Not sure how to secure it all to the frame. I'm frustrated after over an hour of looking at it and searching the interwebs. Any thoughts might be helpful. It's a pretty cool setup and I look forward to using it. I just nee d to get it into usable shape! Thanks!
Edit: This kinda reminds me of the underpants gnomes:
Step 1. Steal all the underpants.
Step 2.
Step 3. Take over the world.
