I want some good WHITE light - not ugly yellow. I always have bad luck when I buy on impulse.
Can some one direct me to a product online that they can recommend?

GE makes a "daylight" bulb but I find it disagreeably blue. YMMV though--I don't mind the color of regular CF bulbs at all, so you might like the blue.

I've been buying Felt Electrics recently, mostly because they're cheap, but their version of the daylight is (to my eyes) nice and warm.

I have a few CFs that put off nice white light (tending toward blue), but most I have are yellow/orange - yucky!

Costco has a selection of white, and also "daylight" CFL bulbs.
A 4 pack of them costs less than $4

Many lines of CFL's have three color ranges of bulbs, some brands lists them as "soft white", "bright white" and "daylight" in the order of lowest to highest color temp. It sounds like you have mostly ones that would be called soft white. Try the bright white or daylight types, they tend to be "whiter", though some can be too "blue" for some people's taste. I find mixing soft white and bright white bulbs in multi-bulb fixtures works for my purposes. Bright white works where I need a work light kind of illumination.
P.S. I find some bulbs got "yellower" when they got older, but those are several years old and not sold anymore.

My Home Depot has a display that shows the difference in the different types of bulbs. Also, they get the top recommendations from Consumer Reports for the big box stores.

warm white is roughly 2700-3200K
bright white is roughly 4100K
daylight is usually between 5000-6500K
I prefer bright white. the higher daylight one above 5500 or so start looking blue-white.
