I am using our Windows 7 Pro desktop which already has Malwarebytes, Avast, CCleaner and MyDefrag installed.
How to remove all those pesky malware?

Reboot into Safe Mode (restart and press/tap the F8 key...and select 'Safe Mode with Networking'), after booting up, run Malwarebytes again and make sure to update it first and then perform your scan/removal.

You should be running Microsoft Security Essentials, and there is a Malicious Removal Tool from M$ as well.

safe mode w/networking
download & run combofix http://download.cnet.com/Combofix/3000-8...21073.html

ComboFix might be a little much for this.
Just stick with Malewarebytes and see how that goes, first.

(don't run two anti-viruses together - it's not like it used to be with confusion and problems, but still not good/efficient for your system - they can 'fight' against each other). You can run anti-malware together though fine (e.g. Malewarebytes, SUPERantiSpyware, SpyBot, etc.) |
