FU to "iBook worth $800?"
#1
Follow up to this earlier thread http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/123...msg-123888

I had my cousin (who is selling the iBook) revamp his auction, I helped him with some of the text, and convinced him to do a $1 opening bid. He still set a reserve but I told him no way he'd get $800 or close to it, but I don't know what he set it at.

Opinions?

If applicable, state 'Original Box, CDs', etc. and 'I am the original owner' spiel.
Might also want to be clear about the display quality, 'No dead pixels'...

Good luck to your cuz!

more seriously....put the size and speed in the title. i always think of the title as a place to put keywords

Doesn't mattter what he writes... with an $800 reserve, he's wasting his time.

Reserve is not $800. I'm not sure how low it is, but I know it's not $800.

I agree, the Title is lacking:

Apple iBook G4 used 3 months, warranty

I would say something like:

iBook G4 1.33mhz 1GB Ram, 40GB, used 3 Months w/Warranty

He is also cutting his bids in 1/2 with the reserve. Is he still asking for a high reserve (it's not $800 I HOPE)?

Usually iBooks are a guaranteed sale on eBay, I would have lost the reserve if his reserve is $500 or less.

With a 5 day auction and NO RESERVE, he would see a lot of action on Day 1 & 2 with the $1.00 opening bid (maybe going up past the $150/200 mark).

It will sit idle for 2 days as it gets lost in the listings (FEATURED PLUS, helps this).

On the last day it will see some real action (but ends on a little too early for me on a Monday).

Is that ending at Noon Pacific? Good for people surfing at work, but you lost the "at Home" evening crowd that saw it Sunday night.

Forgot to say it is Much Better....

I would also use "color" and Bold to break up and accent the descriptions toward the end.

Monday July 3 is smack dab in the middle of the long holiday "weekend." So eBay traffic will be down, likely resulting in a lower selling price.
