The iMac, the backup, the safe, the jewelry and probably some other stuff I don't know about. All taken while she was at her brothers funeral. We are going to get the serial number of the imac from the apple retailer (not an apple store) where it was purchased. I don't think I ever setup a .mac email address for it though. I can't remember. Without a .mac email address entered in the system preferences there isn't any way to track where the computer is plugged in is there?

I must have setup an apple I'd because its required the first time the computer is turned on. Am I right? Now to just figure out what it was.

Yeah, that is why some organizations in various locations will arrange for volunteer "house sitters" for families attending funerals. Does cut down on the opportunistic thieves who use this approach.

That really sucks. A friend of my mother's house sat for her, while we were at my father's funeral. I live in a different city, so I didn't have to worry about it, but it is a sad thing that you hear about happening all too often.

Also, for her @mac account we are having difficulties. The password she wrote down is not working. I tried the option to recover it using an alternate email account but no information is arriving in any of the email accounts we have access to. So I tried to recover using the verify birthdate option and it tells me the date is wrong. Where do I go from there? Thanks.
