Check prices on Amazon Subscribe and Save orders.
#1
I've been using Amazon's Subscribe and Save for a while, back when it was a 15% discount (now it's 5%), and this morning I just noticed that my credit card had a pending Amazon charge, and I checked and saw a Subscribe and Save order with today's date, and the price per item before discount seemed rather high ($19.43), and I'm ordering 3 of them, I clicked on the item description link in the order summary, and it shows the "sold by Amazon" price for the item as $15.70. So even after the 15% discount it was more expensive than anyone placing a new order without any discounts.

I called Amazon, talked with two people for over 30 minutes, the second one stuck with it and kept checking with someone else, and they weren't able to stop or re-price the order but in the end issued me a credit to be used on my next order.

One other change that I noticed with Subscribe and Save is that you used to be able to request additional refills between the scheduled ones, and still get the discount on that order, now it's full price for those unscheduled orders.

So, if you use Subscribe and Save, make sure that you check the price when the order gets refilled.

Ouch. Thanks. They started this when my kid was little and we ended up using it for diapers, wipes... was really great. Sad to see it go downhill to the point of worse than useless.

I used to use it for certain k-cup coffees but found the same thing (price creep) happening, so I dropped it and just order what I need when I need it.

I wouldn't go that far, it had been working well for me up until this order, including another order that arrived earlier this week. Trust, but verify.

Yep, I noticed that it wasn't as good anymore for the flavored syrups I order, so I will just order as needed now. Sad to see it go, though.

Agreed. Losing the 15% and especially no more ability to get a quick replacement order kills the purpose.

Feels like it's getting slowly choked out.

The prices we've seen have sometimes varied a little between shipments, but they still have always been a little cheaper than the regular prices. However, I did notice the shipping charge being added back to any shipments requested before the normally scheduled one. Didn't need it that badly, so we just waited the week until the regular order shipped.
